Synopsis

Most people didn't survive the solar storm. AJ sometimes wonders if he did either. In the aftermath of his journey, AJ wakes up on a steel table in an underground facility, his memory a blur. A voice in the walls has answers—Kitt, an AI buried in the hills with an army of bots and an agenda he keeps close. He makes an offer to AJ, one he could walk away from, or one that would fix everything he set out to do. The offer was straightforward: do what he's told, tell no one, and his dying father gets to live. Simple enough, until it isn't. One job becomes two, then something he never planned on being capable of. The world doesn’t stop falling apart just because AJ is—for a father who may not survive anyway. The man he used to be gets harder to find. Kitt frames it as a partnership, as necessity. AJ stopped believing that a while ago. He’s put in too much to stop. That’s what he tells himself, anyway.
