E. C. Tubb
A British pulp master whose lone wanderer crossed a galaxy of worlds in search of a single lost planet: Earth.
E. C. Tubb was a remarkably prolific British writer best known for the long-running Dumarest of Terra saga, following the hardened traveller Earl Dumarest as he drifts from world to world searching for his half-forgotten homeworld. Across more than thirty volumes the series became a touchstone of classic space opera — lean, fast, and colourful.
Tubb wrote at extraordinary speed under his own name and a long list of pseudonyms, contributing heavily to the British science-fiction magazines of the 1950s. His prose is economical and propulsive, built for momentum rather than ornament, with each new planet bringing fresh dangers and a vivid sense of the strange. Expect brisk adventure, exotic worlds, and the quiet melancholy of a man who can never quite get home — vintage SF that keeps the pages turning.
