Adam Reith, scout, is the sole survivor of a ship sent from Earth to Tschai. Warring alien races have bred humans in their likeness for slaves, even to hunt and eat. With stocky short nomad lad Traz, skinny tall Didirman Anacho, and the occasional rescued beauty, he foils villains and swindlers, wins a fortune in sequins, and above, tries to fly home.
