From a review The story involves a young man who doesn't quite fit in anywhere, so the central organizing computer decides to kill two birds with one stone and send him to deal with a newly-opened planet that no one has managed to figure out. It's a combination SF/mystery/socio-political adventure with some extremely interesting aliens. Although the writing is light and cheerful (and some of the commentary between the hero and the aliens is extremely funny), the questions addressed are serious what is a society? What is a government? How would a totally anarchaic society fare if it came in contact with an organized society?
