Synopsis

Revered in secret for centuries, the Egyptian cat-goddess Bast is known to but a few in these faraway European lands. And now, as the purging armies of Christianity sweep across Gaul intent on destroying every vestige of a pagan past, the imperiled deity must call upon the healer Sirona, her last and most reluctant priestess. As Bast marshals the gods and goddesses of yore for battle, it is Sirona -- herself damned as a witch by powerful forces seeking her death -- who now controls a world's destiny.
