With his crew mates from the space cruiser, Photon Flight, Bobby Robinson had lived for three months on Terra, a planet nearly three hundred and fifty thousand million miles from earth, after being swept from a Mars orbit into intersolar space. While there, he had fallen in love with and married a Terran space technician, Ena, with whom he was now attempting to return to his earth home. The journey was perilous. Looking at the picture on the monitor screen, Ena saw thousands upon thousands of large, glowing discs hurtling toward them and disappearing from each side of the screen; they seemed to be speeding toward a fusillade of instant destruction. Miraculously, somehow they reached their destination, only to discover that their previous difficulties were as nothing compared to the problems confronting a Terran suddenly thrust on an alien earth.
