THE JOURNALS HOLD ALL THE SECRETS This is a tale of woe and truth, of failure and rebirth, of love and pain, of friends, fairies and the darkest of family secrets. THE TRUTH ABOUT FAIRIES tells the story of a troubled but talented young woman, as revealed in the journals of Madison Lancaster. Following the tragic death of ten-year-old Madi's father, her mother, Angela, tearfully accepts an invitation from her recently-widowed sister, Mary Compton. Madi and her mother leave behind all the happy memories of her father, family and best friend—in fact, all that was warm, loving, and familiar to Madi resided in the now-empty, small yellow cottage in Torrington, Connecticut. However, Madi learns to adjust to their new and luxurious lifestyle on the Compton ranch. Her aunt Mary owns some of the world's most coveted Arabian horses. The gated-compound which comprises Madi's new home, and its accompanying trappings of immense wealth, provide her with a glimpse of a lifestyle she never imagined. However, no amount of money can ease Madi's pain and loneliness. She acquires much-needed solace one lonely summer, when she discovers some "secret" friends—friends who reside in the depths of a giant oak. These "friends" provide comfort in her time of need, but a horrifying event leaves Madi with a dark secret—a terrifying event the details of which can never be revealed. Secrets scribbled through tears in her journals. Madi grows into an accomplished but very troubled young woman. In time, she learns to lean on her controversial, trash-talking cousin, Tishia Compton, for support and help. With Compton money, Tishia keeps Madi's indiscretions from the Wellford rumor-mill but she can't keep Madi from handsome Jake Thornley. The truth that will finally set Madi free—free to pursue a normal life and loving relationships ultimately exist in the secrets residing in her journals.
