Set in the Bronze/Iron Halthris and her brother Abreth belong to the peace-loving Tanathi tribe, cunning steppe hunters who are under threat from the Ska'i tribe from the south, the fiercest warriors in the world. Halthris goes to Zithirian, the richest city in the world to warn its king.
