A passionate story of life and of death and the tangled web that binds one to the other, told through the eyes of a dying man to the only woman who can share his torment. In the nineteenth century, William Jude Gregor trekked to the South American jungle and beyond, returned home and left one seed – the promise of immortality. Then he disappeared. A century and a half later, big business kills for Gregor’s seed, steals the new drug and the cure for mankind’s ultimate affliction. With the help of Andean shamans, a pharmaceutical research team finds the source of the seed and her ancient keeper. The keeper, however, is no ordinary man and the organism that produces the seed, no ordinary plant. Beginning with murder at Whistler Mountain to London to Bolivia then back to North America, the seed weaves a path of deception and betrayal, spreading her predatory grasp to a new snowy peak.
