He is lost; the Corregidor is disabled and its energy tanks are nearly depleted. The ship is pursued by hostile aliens who seek to destroy mankind. Yet Commodore Abraham Briggs has not lost hope. Beneath him lies a strangely beautiful world. And from it he may refuel his ship, find his bearings, and plot his course home.
