When Mary Machen and her young son receive a strange invitation from her dead husband's family to visit them in the backwoods of Georgia, she arrives to find a moss riddled swamp and a decaying mansion full of phantom shadows and old family tensions. But this new family of Southern Gothic oddities is the least of her worries.
