Synopsis

Very scarce fantasy novel in which a benevolent culture of white human like apes is found in Africa, one of whom saves a missionary. Found in the Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and Bleiler. Dixon, born in Huntsville, Texas, was an American author, animal rights activist and a member of the Americanization movement. In 1921 he founded the First Church for Animal Rights in Manhattan. Dixon was known to be a homosexual and lived much of his adult life with his partner Chester Snowden, who illustrated the jacket for this title.
