Synopsis

The original publication, as a three-part serial in ANALOG. September, October and November issues from 1978. ~ ~ At the end of *Stardance*, Shara Drummond had succeeded in outdancing the alien invaders, and driving them away from Earth. Being no longer able to live on her world of birth, having no home in free fall, whe allowed herself to perish in flames by re-entering the atmosphere. ~ ~ In her memory, her surviving sister Norrey, and Charlie, the loyal video man whose recording of the stardance had made it the most popular artistic presentation in history, have established a small free-fall dance company in Shara's memory. Finding people who can function at this artistic level without a sense of up-and-down is difficult; the company numbers only six. ~ ~ Then the alien fireflies returned! And guess who was drafted to go out and meet them?
