Synopsis

Months ago, Earth was conquered by the sinister forces of the Celestial Ascendancy, a conquest that took place in the shadows with the subversion of the all-powerful Central Committee. At last, it is time for the Starship Eudoxus and her crew to return home, to return to Earth, in order to obtain data that could make the difference between victory and defeat, data that is worth any cost, any price, to obtain. As Lieutenant-Major Nick Ryder leads a combat team to the surface on a suicide mission, Flight Commander Carter Maxwell takes his ship to the outermost worlds of the Solar System in order to find new allies in the cold depths of space. With the forces of the suborned Commonwealth waiting to strike, with uneasy allies that might turn into deadly foes at the toss of a coin, both Maxwell and Ryder will be pushed harder than ever before in their battle for freedom and liberty...and the cost of their victory may prove higher than they can pay...
