This book and the prequel, Operation Thunder Child, are the only two science fiction novels ever to have gone through the British Government's security vetting procedure, on the basis that Nick Pope was involved not just in official government research and investigation into the UFO phenomenon, but in highly classified work on the Gulf War and other sensitive operations.
