Synopsis

Noah II envisages a society dominated by machines where man is reduced to mindless dependence. This is the story of how a leader arises who dares to challenge the system. Destruction is not only inherent in the artificial life he has rejected, it also becomes an external threat - and he along perceives the gathering catastrophe. He warns the people; some listen, some mock. Finally the blow falls - drought seizes the earth. The second Noah builds an Ark for his followers - a fleet of spaceships. Those who mocked him now come to seize the ships, but are defeated in a desperate and bloody battle. The fleet lifts off on its quest through time and space for a new earth. But the desire of a man for a woman he must not have and the lure of power provoke a life and death struggle between father and son. This is a story to stir the imagination with its skillful interplay of allegory, technology and human conflict.
