America sends it's best and brightest to colonize the planet Mars. America's best and brightest turn out to be Mormons, Wiccans, atheists, and a woman who mistakenly believes she is a character in a Kurt Vonnegut novel. Suddenly, while they are flying to Mars, nothing goes wrong. They get to Mars safely. And then, on the surface of Mars... nothing goes wrong again. But Earth is a different matter entirely. Earth goes Boom Follow several generations of these all-too-human Martians as they live, work, have sex, and try very hard to do what they think God wants them to do, all on the remarkably Earthlike planet: Mars.
