Synopsis

Tired of wandering through exotic and often dangerous lands, Jeniche settles into a quiet life of study in Ynysvron. But when she peers beneath the surface of an idyll that seems too good to be true, she discovers it is too good to be true. Intent on leaving, she learns the old lesson: the last thing you want is often the first thing you get. Another adventure was not on her list of wants. Which was why, co-opted into a quest intended as a test of strength and ingenuity, she finds herself and her companions embarked instead on a race against the dark tide of conquest.
