Synopsis

They took someone I can't live without. So I did something stupid (which is very on-brand) and went after them. Eight years after Deadbreak, you’d think I’d have learned my lesson. But no. Some idiots in lab coats calling themselves Verum Ex cut across the northern plains in a convoy, and I’m hot on their heels. It’s a great plan, assuming you ignore the assault rifles they brought along, the CCB still trying to tax anything with a pulse, and, you know, the millions of dead things trying to eat everyone. I've got a small crew, a dog who frankly runs the operation, and a trail that drags us through every nightmare scenario the apocalypse has left to offer. I’m talking claustrophobic firefights in abandoned towns, a literal dive into zombie-infested sewers (which smelled exactly as fantastic as you’re imagining), and getting pinned down in a gulch like I'm starring in a classic horror flick. The trail finally ends at Bayside, a massive survivor fortress built entirely inside an old Costco. But instead of free samples, we find an absolute, 12-gauge disaster. The CCB is closing in, and the dead are starting to gather at the automated doors like it’s Black Friday. When the walls finally breach, it’s not a firefight anymore, it's a full-blown medieval siege, except with less horses. Or is it fewer horses? Whatever. Point is, there are way more bullets. Lots more bullets. If we survive the meat grinder, there’s a hospital down the road with the answers I need. If we don't? Well, at least I won’t have to worry about my membership expiring.
