"It's winter break and Jed and his parents gather to discuss how he's NOT getting a dog! But when Jed spots a stray, he chases it until the dog darts into the street, where it is struck by a car. Grief stricken, Jed cradles the dead dog in his arms, sobbing over what he has done. Soon, ozze from the dog mixes with tears from Jed, creating Tread, the zombie dog.
