Synopsis

Bridging the hundred-and-twenty-year gap between the novels Haji and Suzu, Conversion Chronicles follows two reluctant warriors, Phraetissi and Vagrani, teaming with the stunningly formidable police officer, Najem, and young, spunky Princess Limme. The foursome stumble into religious wars that will one day overtake their already turbulent world. Along the way, they come across gang disputes, disgruntled assassins and surly clowns out to cause trouble. The reluctant heroes' blossoming relationships become lifelines to survive in a world growing forever colder and unstable. Phraetissi's heart is set on wooing the lovely princess but fears himself unworthy of her love. The swaggering Vagrani falls for Najem, learning that beneath her rough veneer, she is fragile and hesitant to love any man. Najem and Limme strike a strong bond, rivaling the bond of sisters, but the friendship between Phraetissi and Vagrani is strained when one decides to take a singular detour-indefinitely.
