All her life, Grace has wondered about the mother who had given her up for adoption when she was born. When a chance encounter leads Grace to discover her mother's identity, she is thrilled. Her excitement builds when she learns that her mother, Veronica, is a rich widow eager to meet her daughter. But there's something strange about Veronica and the large estate where Grace, her husband, and their children take up residence for the summer.
