Rosemary Weston lives in a safe, cozy North Carolina village in 1790. Every day brings chickens to feed, herbs to gather, and lots of time to explore the nearby forest.Change is about to arrive, though, as surely as the arrival of the village's newest citizens: a cooper and his young, pregnant wife. The cooper's wife fast becomes Rosemary's first true friend--someone to imagine with, to laugh with. Rosemary's heart expands as quickly as her body outgrows last summer's dress. But soon rumors spread--tales of witchcraft and evil. As the gossip begins to spoil the calm and warmth of her village, Rosemary is the first to take action. The safety of her family and her dearest friend is at stake.
