When Lara's harsh, elderly husband suddenly dies, she is forced to take charge of a Victorian mansion on the east coast of Yorkshire. Lacking self-confidence, could she face living alone in a strange house with only a dog and cat for company? Gradually Lara becomes aware of a haunting presence and is soon drawn into the mysteries of the house.
